Well, he has the eyes for it... not that I read the book, of course.

Well, he has the eyes for it… not that I read the book, of course.

If we don’t have a day in which a rumor about who will be playing Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in the upcoming Fifty Shades of Grey film, the world would cease to exist. It really would. It would stop turning on its axis, flip out of control and be sucked into the sun. Then, of course, we’d all die and no one would care about fucking Fifty Shades of Grey. I can’t tell if this would be a fantastic day or a sad day for mankind.

So, with the need to keep humanity alive and kicking, we have a latest “maybe” for the role of Christian Grey. This time it’s some guy named Stephen Amell from something called Arrow. Have you heard of him?

Apparently the “hunky Canadian” actor, the New York Post‘s words not mine, had a meeting about the project. As the “hunky” dude said on his Facebook page:

“I get questions about Christian Grey all the time. That project is a long way off. I know this, because I had a meeting about it. Long way off. I mean, not that long, but not close. I wouldn’t call it long, but I wouldn’t call it close.”

I feel like this is going to go on for the next year — all these rumors. Since the book was as badly written as it was, we can’t expect much from the film version, so maybe this is the best way to sell tickets: hype.

What do you think? Does Amell fill your fantasies of what Christian Grey should look like? Or are we all still hoping for Ryan Gosling?
