You can feel free to say that I’m unnecessarily stirring the pot here, but I think that this was a dig. In her interview with Elle this month — yes, the same one where she said blow job –Paltrow talked about the dearth of roles for women in Hollywood, as every actress apparently needs to do in every interview with every magazine forever. Here’s what she had to say:

“There’s a lot [of work] that’s okay, but there’s little that’s really good, especially for someone my age. Sometimes you find out that something you really liked is going to someone 10 years younger. I find it heartening that Meryl Streep and Sandra Bullock have been able to find and create amazing projects.”

Meryl Streep and Sandra Bullock? Maybe you want to run through the numbers one more time, Paltrow:

Meryl Streep: 61
Sandra Bullock: 46
Gwyneth Paltrow: 38

In Hollywood, there isn’t that much difference between a 38-year-old woman and a 46-year-old woman, thanks to Botox. So for Paltrow to say that she’s “heartened” that Bullock keeps finding work, as if that means that in eight years, when she’s similarly old, wrinkled and hunched over, she might also be occasionally be thrown a bone, too — it’s either delusional, or a deliberate dig. Or, it’s a typical Gwyneth-ism, in which she has absolutely no idea how she comes across when she speaks.
