I’ve never really understood the mania surrounding Hello Kitty. As far as I can tell, it’s a children’s toy. Am I wrong? I mean, seriously — am I wrong?? Is there more to it than a bunch of adults clamoring over a pink and white cat with a round head and a propensity for pink?

Anyway, I digress — regardless of my discomfort with the concept, Eva Airlines and Sanrio, the company that makes Hello Kitty, have collaborated to design something pretty explicitly for adults: a Hello Kitty airline. The planes are decked out in the face of Hello Kitty, and they also have a pink check-in area that makes me feel incredibly claustrophobic, as well as pink tickets.

Normally, I would chalk this airline up to something I will never experience and will be grateful for never experiencing, but there is one thing that looks enticing about this airline: the food. Peep these pictures:

Oh I’m sorry, did you ask if I want a delicately attired in-flight chocolate fruit cup? Why yes, yes I do. How about some delightful carrots cut in the shape of a bow-tie? Sure, lay that shit right on my tray table.

Is this enough to get me to ride on the airline? I’m not quite sure. But it’s a rock solid start.
