Oh, for the love of god.

Word on the street is that Paris Jackson, the 13-year-old daughter of Michael Jackson, recently joined her school’s flag football team. That move caught the eye of the Lingerie Football League — a league in which grown women play football in their skivvies — and they contacted Paris.

TMZ reports that LFL Commissioner Mitchell S. Mortaza sent the adolescent a letter stating the following:  “We … would like to invite Paris to become the spokesperson for the LFL’s youth program and perhaps start training for a future football career in the LFL when she reaches the age of 18.”

Dude. Please. There’s so much wrong with this. First of all, you have a youth league?! Isn’t that somehow illegal? Second of all, you’re going to invite a famous girl to be part of it? There is no way that Mortaza can’t know the shitstorm that this is about to cause, so we’ll give him the benefit of the doubt by assuming that this was intended as a “no publicity is bad publicity” PR move. And by “benefit of the doubt” we mean we will assume he is not a complete fucking moron when it comes to marketing.

But that doesn’t mean he isn’t a complete fucking moron in other ways! Because in the process of making a name for his brand, he’s gone ahead and publicly sexualized a child. Way to go, guy.

For the record, I don’t have a problem with the LFL. I think grown women should be able to do whatever they want, wearing whatever they want, at whatever time they want. But that doesn’t necessarily apply to 13-year-old girls. There is nothing not sexual about lingerie — a child shouldn’t be parading about publicly in it. And a grown man shouldn’t be asking her to do so.

Expect an apology within the next few days.
