What with all the hysteria surrounding the woman formerly known as Kate Middleton‘s royal womb, one would think they’d have the hospital where she’s being treated for severe morning sickness on lockdown Beyonce style. However, an Australian radio station was able to breach their security yesterday with a simple prank call impersonating Kate’s grandmother-in-law, Queen Elizabeth II.
The information the caller obtained about Kate’s condition was rather boring, but doubtlessly juicy (and reassuring!) to her millions of obsessive fans. “[Kate] hasn’t had any retching with me and she’s been sleeping on and off,” the nurse on duty (who may or may not still work there) said. “She’s sleeping at the moment and she has had an uneventful night. She’s been given some fluids. She’s stable at the moment…I would suggest that any time after 9 o’clock will be suitable to visit. We’ll be getting her freshened up.”
Just because Kate is puking her pregnant guts out doesn’t mean she can’t look nice for the Queen!
The hospital is reviewing its protocols following the embarrassing incident. That Australian radio show host should be glad he’s not anywhere close to England, lest she/he be arrested like that French papparazzo. That said, it’s not often that someone prank calls someone else pretending to be the Queen of England and the person on the other end doesn’t hang up immediately, so good job.
