Over the past few months, we have seen many a sneak preview for Bret Easton Ellis‘
Montessori school art project upcoming film The Canyons, featuring Lindsay Lohan and James Deen, among others. Now, with its August 2 release date inching ever closer, we have the official trailer.
It looks like…well, exactly what we thought it would look like: Bret Easton Ellis doing a movie about sexy apathetic people being sexily apathetic in nice Los Angeles houses (for the record, I am a huge fan of his books, so this is by no means intended as an insult). LiLo even has the line, “I guess I’d like to keep some parts of my life private,” to which she is told, “Nobody has a private life anymore, Tara.” MEANINGS, GUYS. Meanings.
In all seriousness, though, I am 100% positive I will see this movie. James Deen is awesome, Lindsay Lohan is Lindsay Lohan and Nolan Gerard Funk is super duper hot. Obviously, my standards and explanations for why I see certain movies are brilliantly thought through.
Side note: Is it just me, or does literally every word that comes out of Lindsay Lohan’s mouth sound like she’s giving the sentimental Mean Girls prom speech again?
