This past week had many on the east coast seeking refuge from loss power, property damage or a whole slew of other issues. People were either running to shelters or to the homes of friends who were lucky enough to have their lives and world unaffected by the storm.
Unlike a visit, being a refugee means you’re stuck at that place where you’re hiding out. You can’t go home for one reason or another, so you need to be as cool as possible so as to not disrupt the daily lives of your host. It’s also more than that. It’s about pitching in, helping out and making yourself scarce when the moment calls for it.
You want to play your cards right so you’ll have that place to go to again in the future if shit goes down.
