elbow patch sweaterIt’s freezing balls around most of the country, but unfortunately we all have to go back to work and wear normal, grown up clothes instead of thick sweats and warm pajamas. I don’t know about you, but when it gets this cold, I want to be wearing the closest thing to pajamas in existence. Since for some reason my office frowns upon wearing onesies to work, I’ve had to adjust my wardrobe to masquerade as work-appropriate, when in fact it’s secretly loungewear.

I’ve been especially fond of sweaters for accomplishing maximum comfort. My closet is an embarrassment of riches when it comes to sweaters–oversized, thick, chunky, cardigans, various necklines, lengths, and all suspiciously black and oatmeal colored. Since drowning in giant sweaters can tend towards a bit sloppy, it’s not a bad idea to add a bit of embellishment so your outfit looks intentional and not like you slept in it (even if you did). Enter: Elbow patches.

Elbow patches have been quite the hot item for a while now, and I hope they never go out of style. I am never not tickled by a pair of elbow patches, and I’m a huge sucker for menswear-ish items. In fact, if I were to describe my style, it would be “sexy old man.” Sorry gentlemen, this grandpa’s taken.

If you want to shlump around in sweaters but look put together, try one of these sweaters with elbow patches to keep things classy. Here’s 18 options at every price point (seriously, who knew Wet Seal had cute sweaters?).
