Welcome to the best dressed list of the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards! This year, there were lots of surprisingly tame yet incredibly sexy looks from the likes of all the stars you love (and love to hate), as well as several risks that totally paid off. Entertainer such as Kesha, Solange and Miley Cyrus (yes, really!) looked positively stunning gliding across the red carpet in their individual looks. Who else made the cut?
Ireland Baldwin and Angel Haze
Ireland (in a Roberto Cavalli and Paul Andrews pumps) and Angel (in a Helmut Lang blazer and Raf Simons top) killed it early on upon the red carpet–and they showed up holding hands, which makes the 2014 VMAs already cuter than the 2013 ones.
One of our favorite celebrities looked beautiful on the red carpet in a long white studded Johanna Johnson gown and wow, she looks breathtaking. The beautiful neutral-toned dress only accentuates her fantastic rainbow hair.
Is anybody surprised that this stunner made the best dressed list? This sparkly blue number with an asymmetrical hemline by Marc Bouwer just screams VMAs. Also, I must’ve missed when she got bangs because wow, those look excellent.
I initially didn’t love this look but the more I stare at it, the better it gets. The vintage Halston number is perfectly draped, it’s a beautiful color, and it’s got that playful sexiness that the VMAs tend to embody. Oh, and it looks like she didn’t wear a bra, which is awesome.
I’m totally loving this Saint Laurent dress on Nicki. Even though it is simple (well, for her it’s simple), it is sexy and totally fits her style. She’s got that old Hollywood glamour with her hair and makeup, but that 2014 modernity in her sparkly dress.
Speaking of good menswear, can somebody hook me up on a date with Jason Derulo? Just sayin’. And also he looked really good in this white Gentlemen Collection by David Thomas suit, blahblahblah. And of course Jordin Sparks looks stunning, too, in a Simply Intricate dress and Stuart Weitzman heels.
Chloe Grace Moretz
I’m so into this cute Louis Vuitton look! It’s very grownup, but we sort of expected that.
SAY WHAAAAAA-?! No, but really, Miley looked VMAs-appropriate in a Alexandre Vauthier Couture tube top and slouchy black pants, and at the very least wins a “Most Improved” award for this look compared to last year’s, ahem, clothing.
