I didn’t intentionally put the above items together as an outfit but now that I’m looking at it…yes I would definitely wear that. Judging by the MDW burn lines of those around me, summer is officially here, and the only way I know to celebrate the beginning of a new season is with a new summer wardrobe of absurdly affordable clothing. (Yeah that’s right, I did this in the fall and winter as well.) Trendspotting this summer fills me joy: you’ve got printed maxi dresses, khaki and army green, chunky sandals, retro sunnies, monokinis, mountains of fringe, MORE CULOTTES, glorious jumpsuits, and white. So much white. All the white. So let’s get this party started shall we?
I know I keep going on and on about & Other Stories, but that’s only because YOU NEED TO GO IMMEDIATELY. (If you don’t live in NYC, order online.) Seriously, I’m obsessed. This summer round colorful sunglasses with a retro feel will rule the day, and at this price you could get one in every color!
It was actually difficult not to make this list 100% H&M, because they have so much great stuff right now. This romper is, in itself, the perfect weekend outfit. Breezy, comfortable, chic, and wallet friendly.
You already know that we here at The Gloss are so here for shirt dresses, so I had to throw at least one on the list. I picture myself wearing this dress just about everywhere this summer.
I will continue to resist jumping on the Birkenstock bandwagon, especially since there are so many more interesting, stylish slides out there right now.
You probably need a white mini skirt. That is all.
Even as a fairly short girl, I’m always down for a nice full midi skirt. This summer they will be everywhere, so you best get one while the getting’s good. (I’m actually not a redneck…not sure where that came from.)
Sign me up for tropical neon graphics, yes please.
You probably read that story over at Racked about how good Forever 21’s shoe selection is right now. They were not lying.
I know, this romper may fit weirdly, but the print and the price are enough to make it try it out.
10. Forever 21 Geoprint Romper ($25)This romper will make you the flyest girl at any barbecue.
11. Forever 21 Belted Abstract Print Jumpsuit ($28)If I’ve told you once I’ve told you a thousand times: JUMPSUITS. ACQUIRE ALL THE JUMPSUITS.
String triangle bikinis will be, as ever, the lamest bathing suit on the beach this summer. Try something new guys, I’m begging you.
Since we’re all on a festival-season-induced fringe high right now, you might as well go all out with an accessory or two. And justt in case you’re over fringe a week from now, at least it’s only 30 bucks.
Click to the next page for more slides, more midis, and a pair of sunglasses you absolutely need.
Does anyone else keep meaning to get a circle purse and not pulling the trigger? Maybe it’s time.
More slides! These also come in black or blue if you’re not into the red.
As much as I’m tempted to, wearing neutrals all day every day is not the best move. Gotta throw in some vibrant colors every once in awhile, and this one is gorgeous.
I don’t think I can buy this because I fear I would never take it off…
A little prep for my Jersey girls out there.
Seriously at these prices why not cultivate a full collection of sunglasses?
26. Boohoo Clarissa Low Back Neon Maxi Dress ($20)Neon green is never a bad move for summer, and maxi dresses are always a great one. (Yes, even if you’re short. Hem it or get a petite size you guys, it’ll be adorable!)
27. Boohoo Megan Border Print Eyelet Detail Shirt ($26)There’s something about the shape of this as well as the mixed prints that fills me summery joy.
You’ll know where everything is.
That groovy seventies vibe you guys, it’s a thing.
30. Romwe Floral Pleated Green Skirt (
$35 SALE $18)One more floral midi in there for anyone who wants to prance around singing, “I feel pretty, oh so pretty” this summer. Not that I do that…
