As New York Fashion Week finally kicks off, supermodels and stars alike are flooding NYC like there’s no tomorrow. The entire week is filled with star-studded events, the first of which is always the annual amfAR New York Gala, an event that honors those who have made outstanding contributions to raising awareness and working toward finding a cure for HIV/AIDS. If there’s a better way to start such a major New York-based event, I don’t know what it could be.
As it’s a kick-off event for NYFW, you can bet there was tons of amazing style to admire on the red carpet, both on celebrities and supermodels. Read on to see the best-dressed stars of the night:
1. Blake Lively
Blake Lively, quite simply, is a perfect unicorn of a human, so it’s no surprise that she stunned in this beaded all-white look.
2. Jourdan Dunn
Jourdan is clearly channeling her recent role in Kate Spade‘s spring 2016 campaign in this floral dress. It’s always nice to see that someone can make florals for pre-spring groundbreaking again, though.
3. Diane Kruger
Obviously if Diane Kruger shows at an event, she’ll make her way on to our best-dressed list. If you love the dress now, just wait until you see the back:
I’ve never loved fringe/feather/bauble details so much.
4. Cindy Bruna
The Victoria’s Secret Angel totally killed it in this strapless Zac Posen dress.

5. Ophelie Guillermand
I have such a soft spot for cutouts, so this dress is kind of my jam.
6. Hannah Davis
Okay, I’ll admit that it took me a few passes to actually warm up to this outfit, but even if the dress itself isn’t my favorite of the night, even I can admit that it was styled to perfection.
7. Uma Thurman
It’s been a while since we’ve seen Uma Thurman out and about, but what a way to make her grand return, am I right? I love the subtle-yet-strong detail of the structured sleeves, and I’m seriously in love with those shoes, which I’m 99 percent sure are by Chanel.
You really do have to respect someone who goes for such a bold color when it’s so easy to fall back on classic black and white pieces. This fuchsia dress is complemented perfectly with Padma’s simple hair and makeup, and I can always get behind a matching lip color.
9. Carly Steel
The gold embellishments on this dress, though **insert prayer hands emoji**.
10. Taylor Marie Hill
I’m so used to seeing Taylor Hill with the classic Victoria’s Secret bombshell hair that I almost didn’t recognize her here. The styling on this relatively prim-and-proper look is completely on point, and this is easily the best case for wearing a velvet mini dress I’ve ever seen.
11. Lizzie Tisch
And here’s the best Valentine’s Day outfit in the world. You’re welcome, world.
