Today is Nancy Sinatra‘s birthday. If you’re like me you only know two things about Nancy: 1. She had a song called “These Boots Are Made For Walkin'” and, 2. she’s Frank Sinatra‘s daughter.

Although she made other pop songs, it’s this one in a particular and the image of she in her mini-skirts and go-go boots that is probably most synonymous with her impact on fashion of the 1960’s. It’s also an anthem of sorts, similar to Gloria Gaynor‘s “I Will Survive,” that rings true for the broken hearted everywhere.

I’m not sure Nancy wears her boots with the frequency she did back in her heyday (she is 72 now), but let’s remember her with some images of her and her “walkin'” boots.
