It’s no secret that Ashley Graham is probably one of the best things to happen to the fashion industry in recent history. From her groundbreaking Sports Illustrated Swim Edition cover to her countless campaigns and collaborations with brands like Addition Elle, I’m pretty sure that it’s physically impossible to stop her, even if you wanted to (which, like, why would you?). Now, Graham can add the title of Dress Designer to her resume with the launch of Beyond by Ashley Graham, a ready-to-wear dress collection available at Dressbar by Dressbarn.
Graham has, of course, designed clothing before: her 2013 lingerie line with Addition Elle truly is one of my favorite things to hit the plus-size fashion market. But this is the first time Graham has broken into legit clothing. She told Elle.com,
“This is my first apparel collection, so I’m beyond excited about that! I’ve always been a ‘dress girl’ and really wanted to create a line that was sophisticated, sexy, and made women feel confident.”
Until now, Graham seems to have exclusively worked with plus-size collections, like Forever 21‘s plus-size swimwear line and Addition Elle’s NOLA activewear. But Beyond is different in that it ranges in size from 4-24, making it one of the more inclusive dress lines (though certainly not the only one) out there right now, encompassing both straight- and plus-size audiences.
As exciting as Graham’s new endeavor is, we definitely should have seen this partnership with Dressbarn coming, considering she’s worked with them before:
“I’ve been working with Dressbarn as a model for years, and I always admired how they offer fashionable and affordable dresses to women of all sizes. It was important for me to collaborate with a company who shares my belief that beauty is beyond size.”
As one of the brands out there that’s been inclusive of all sizes (almost) since its inception, Dressbarn really is the ideal match for Graham’s new line.
Landing within the very affordable price range of $48 to $66, the Beyond by Ashley Graham includes four different pieces, each of which is available in straight-size, petite, and plus-size. And, unsurprisingly, they’re hella cute. Read on to take a peek!
Everyone needs that perfect LBD, and this really is one of the best ones I’ve ever seen. The lace around the shoulders is just so subtle and pretty, and I’m a sucker for a good exposed zipper.
As someone with an irrational love for colorblocking, I’m really feeling this dress. I just feel like the black block around the waist would slim you down so perfectly.
Looking for a dress for a summer wedding? Welp, here you go!
This is reportedly Graham’s favorite dress—she says it’s the “perfect staple dress for spring and summer occasions”—and I can definitely see why. It took me ages to find the perfect white dress (a wonderfully soft, high-neck one from Cotton On, if you were wondering), and this one looks like it might be even better.
