Awards Season DressesAwards season is meant to recognize the greatest films, actors and actresses, directors and talented crew members. However, who doesn’t look forward to seeing what the celebs will be wearing on the red carpet as much as (if not more) than seeing who takes home the most prizes? The awards show season red carpets are like the adult version of playing dress up. Except instead of plastic jewelry and a scratchy dress, you have millions of dollars worth of jewels and couture.

It’s common for celebrities to get one-of-a-kind gowns designed for them, but there were so many stunning gowns at Fashion Month that would rival any bespoke piece. We saw these looks once on the runway, but they deserve to have a red carpet moment.

These are the gowns celebrities need to wear during the 2016 awards show season:

1. Marchesa, Spring 2016Marchesa Gradient Gown

This raspberry color is beautiful and the mix of it with the black adds a whole new level of interest. Anyone has the potential to wow in this dress. Alicia Vikander would look beautiful in it, and so would Rachel McAdams.

2. Dior Haute Couture, Fall/Winter 2015/2016Dior White Cage Gown

Paging Jennifer Lawrence! You know J.Law is going to be in Dior, and this would be an interesting choice. It is a totally different look compared to what she did at the Golden Globes. Plus, just imagine what she would say about the armor detail.

3. Armani Prive, Fall/Winter 2015/2016Armani Prive Black Sparkly Gown

This dress looks like the most beautiful oil spill. It has a simple shape but the colors are just so stunning. It would be great to see Amy Schumer in this. It would be a real fashion moment for her. Kate Winslet would also dazzle in it.

4. Ellie Saab Haute Couture, Fall/Winter 2015/2016Ellie Saab Gold Gown

This is a gown that is fit for a nominee. The strong shoulders and ethereal vibe are very Cate Blanchett, however Brie Larson could have another gold moment and rock it. If anyone wore it, they could style it the exact same way with the hair accessory.

5. Alexander McQueen, Spring/Summer 2016Alexander McQueen Floral Gown

Rooney Mara already wore Alexander McQueen to the Golden Globes, but this would still be a fresh look for her. It is a different direction compared to the tattered gown she wore previously. This would also be stunning Alicia Vikander.

Forget trying to figure out whether this a dress styled with a necklace and harness or whether it is all one look. The important thing is that someone needs to wear this as is. Charlize Theron could totally pull this off.

7. Roberto Cavalli, Fall/Winter 2016Cavalli Gown

Lace is a common thing on the awards season red carpet but this black and red lace has more edge than the usual gown. Eva Green or Krysten Ritter would both work this gown.

8. Gucci, Spring 2016Gucci Ruffle Gown

The Gucci show was the talk of Fashion Month, and someone needs to wear one of the looks on the red carpet. This ruffled coral gown would be a statement worth making for any fashion risk taker. (It just needs a bit of lining.) Kirsten Dunst or Rachel McAdams could pull this off.

9. Marchesa, Spring 2016Marchesa Ombre Gown

If someone turned up on the red carpet wearing this multicolored Marchesa gown, all heads would turn towards them. Saoirse Ronan usually goes for an ethereal vibe so this would be perfect for her. It is a dramatic gown worthy of an Academy Award nominee.

10. Giambattista Valli Haute Couture, Fall/Winter 2015/2016Giambattista Valli Lace Jumpsuit

This may be a list about dresses, but there is always someone who wows us in a completely different look. This jumpsuit-slash-skirt would be just the piece to turn heads. Emma Stone or Cate Blanchett need to get on this.

11. Givenchy, Spring 2016Givenchy Scale Gown

There is a lot of look in this nude dress with scale detail. Who better for it than Taraji P. Henson? She needs to bring some of that Cookie drama to real life. Givenchy collaborator Cate Blancett could also pull this off. Obviously if someone wore it, it would be best if they left the mask detail at home.

12. Versace Haute Couture, Fall/Winter 2015/2016A model walks the runway during the Versace show as part of Paris Fashion Week Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2015/2016 on July 5, 2015 in Paris, France.

There are always a lot of princess moments on the red carpet. This lilac gown is sweet but there is a bit of toughness to it thanks to the open bodice. Kirsten Dunst or Saoirse Ronan would rock this look.
