Remember, yesterday, when we were really happy about how good everyone looked at the Vanity Fair party for the TriBeCa Film Festival? How all the attendees looked so cool and understated and elegant? That was great!
Unfortunately, today’s Red Carpet Rundown brings you the exact goddamn opposite. Last’s night Hot Pink Party, thrown by the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, was a sad state of pinks (predictably), sequins, satin and general promness.
Kate Hudson, actually, managed to get out of this unscathed with a minimal, slinky black dress and unfussy hair. Normally we’d moan about those multi-colored animal skin peep toes, but not today.
Estée Lauder face Constance Jablonski wore the perfect dress to attend a particularly WASPy croquet match. Her makeup, however, was impeccable.
Gayle King wore a wedding dress? With a statement necklace?
We are confused by so many elements of (Sports Illustrated model) Alyssa Miller‘s dress.
And equally confused by designer Gabriela Cadena‘s dress.
Speaking of designers, Tory Burch‘s look felt incomplete without white satin elbow-length gloves and a towering updo.
We appreciate this photo of football players Steve Weatherford.
Seems there’s a little too much texture going on with Vera Wang‘s dress.
Donna Karan wore a pink sash but otherwise kept things understated.
Also donning a pink sash was Myra Biblowit, the Foundation’s president.
It’s important we talk about Elizabeth Hurley‘s look. We think this falls somewhere in between “mermaid at a car show” (which we’ve seen a lot of lately) and My Super Sweet Sixteen finale costume.
Then again, Aerin Lauder brought some seriously refined taste to the pink carpet. As far as peplum dresses go right now, this can’t really be improved upon.
