Bruce Jenner Cailtyn Vanity Fair Cover

It was just reported a few days ago that Bruce Jenner was going to be posing for Vanity Fair as what he has been referring to as “Her” and now the cover has already been released. Bruce appears on the cover of the July 2015 issue as Caitlyn Jenner and the photograph is beautiful.

The photo was shot by Annie Lebovitz and features Caitlyn posing in an off-white corset with her hands behind her back. She has her long hair styled in loose curls and she has on a subtle makeup look. It is a simple, honest cover. It is the first time that Caitlyn has been photographed and is the first time her name has been revealed. During her interview with Diane Sawyer, Caitlyn who was still being referred to as Bruce, said that was the last time she would be seen as “Bruce” before she became “Her.”

Transgender celebrities have appeared on magazine covers before. Laverne Cox has appeared on a bunch of covers including Time, and she recently posed naked in Allure‘s nude portrait series. She was also part of a group of 14 trans women who were featured on this stunning Candy cover. Andreja Pejic was also recently posed in her first Vogue spread.

Caitlyn’s Vanity Fair cover reiterates the point that beauty has no limitations. Beauty isn’t defined by gender, age, race, or religion. There’s nothing more beautiful than being your true self and this cover truly embodies this.

We’ll have to wait until the issue hits newsstands to read Caitlyn’s full interview but just the cover alone has already had a positive impact. There have been numerous words of praise for Caitlyn on social media and just seeing the stunning cover will impact many and help raise more awareness about the transgender community. The Vanity Fair cover is the start of Caitlyn being her honest self and it couldn’t be more beautiful or powerful.

Caitlyn Jenner’s Vanity Fair cover is on newsstands June 9. Check out Vanity Fair to see more.
