Lifestyle guru/singer/actress Gwyneth Paltrow is the new face of Coach. This is either hilarious* or brilliant branding on Coach creative director Reed Krakoff’s part, who has singlehandedly taken the brand from “the purse store at the outlet mall” to one of the highest selling luxury brands in the country and, well, the kind of brand that has Gwyneth Paltrow as its campaign face.

Oddly, the ads will only run in Asia and Europe, so maybe Krakoff’s just trying to work his magic on untapped markets. Peter Lindbergh shot the actress in Manhattan, who is undoubtedly hiding a much more expensive handbag in that  turtleneck (like one by Balenciaga or… maybe… *Tod’s) (who also understood that Gwyneth Paltrow in a turtleneck with flowing blonde hair will sell your wares effectively).
