The 68th Annual Cannes Film Festival was 11 days of beautiful outfits. (And you can’t forget about the movies.) Celebrities played around with lots of different looks from plunging necklines to dresses in every color of the rainbow. It was always a surprise to see what celebs turned up wearing. The outfits were a pleasant surprise most of the time, but there were a few WTF exceptions. The best-dressed list has some familiar names on it (hello Emma Stone) but there are also some celebrities who may not be household names. If you don’t know everyone, get acquainted with them because these are people whose red carpet style you need to be looking at.
Here are the best-dressed celebrities at Cannes 2015:
Leave it to Emma Stone to make us want to wear a white dress that looks like it is made out of cobwebs and bring back our 1990s chokers. Her look channels a 90s bride which would normally be a bad thing, but not in this case. It’s so simple but so elegrant.
Sienna Miller wore so many different spectacular outfits at Cannes that she could have had a best-dressed list all to herself. This metallic silver gown mixed with the red lipstick and easy hair has that effortless look we love Sienna for.
Black definitely isn’t boring if you choose a dress like Miranda Kerr‘s. The fit is flawless and the way the shoes play up the embellishment in the dress, but don’t match, is modern.
Have you ever seen someone look so chic on a boat? Nope. Indian actress Aishwarya Rai‘s gown may not be typical boating attire but who cares, it’s flawless. Bonus points for wearing the color of the year, Marsala.
Lupita Nyong’o knows how to wear color and embellishment. (She also knows how to twirl a skirt.) Wearing a green dress on a red carpet can look a bit Christmas-y but Lupita looks ready for summer with this emerald dress decorated with flowers.

Model Liu Wen went for a different kind of sparkly embellishment at the Little Prince premiere. You don’t need to be dripping in sequins to have all eyes on you. The simple hair and makeup work well with the minimalist look.
There are lots of gorgeous gowns for the evening red carpets but that doesn’t mean celebrities were slacking with their daywear. The pattern on Emily Blunt‘s dress may have been inspired by a Kindergarten project but the overall look is so cool. Check out that neon red lip.
Everyone needs to put Li Bingbing on their style radar. Just take a look at the amazing gown she wore to the The Sea Of Trees premiere. The Transformers 4 star gives Cinderella some serious competition in this periwinkle stunner.
Karlie Kloss wowed in an outfit that combined five or six different pieces, but this blue gown is just as mesmerizing. If you’re going to a wedding this summer, note the popular simple hair with dangling earrings trend we’ve seen a couple times on this list.
There is no one quite like Cate Blanchett. She looks like an Old Hollywood goddess in this black dress with statement belt. It is not easy to pull off two Superman gold bracelets, but she did.
You don’t even have to be a Black Swan fan to love Natalie Portman‘s look. There is a lot going on but it doesn’t overwhelm her. She also may be the first person to expose her underwear and still end up on a best-dressed list.
If you looked up the definition of “statuesque” in the dictionary, I’m pretty sure this photo of Charlize Theron would be there. For all of those people who have an aversion to yellow because they think it makes them look like Big Bird, take a look a this ensemble before you make up your mind.
