Blake Lively–who is not engaged to Leonardo DiCaprio but who almost certainly knows him–showed up to the premiere of The Green Lantern (in which she plays a fighter pilot) (a fighter pilot) wearing Chanel Haute Couture. Lately, I think I’ve read dozens of trend pieces about celebrities wearing white columns on the red carpet in pretty traditional bridal shapes and fabrics (lace, even). …Does this strike anyone else as a bit odd? Should white gowns be off-limits unless one is at one’s wedding? Or, if given the opportunity to wear Chanel couture, would you care even remotely about it looking sort of like a wedding dress?
