After nearly ten years together, seasons of speculation, much official denial and a few too many critical maulings, Hannah MacGibbon is parting ways with Chloé. Stepping in to replace her will be another Brit, Clare Waight Keller, who recently left her post as creative director at Pringle of Scotland. Which means yet another major house has shifted creative directors.
This has been an insane year for industry shake-ups, what with only the most high profile being Dior’s dismissal of John Galliano, Christophe Decarnin’s departure from Balmain, Gianfranco Ferré’s firing of its design duo and, bittersweetly, Sarah Burton taking the reigns at Alexander McQueen.
WWD notes that Cacharel, Azzaro, Kenzo and Trussardi are all houses said to be looking for new creative directorship.
