One thing to keep in mind when picking a fancy dress out is how it will look from faraway. Otherwise, what looked great in the dressing room or on Instagram via selfies you took could wind up being a complete disaster. Case in point: Diane Kruger‘s dress from the Hammer Museum 11th Annual Gala last night in Los Angeles.

The Jonathan Saunders dress was gorgeous, for the most part, made of a gorgeous red satin that looked exceptionally nice on Kruger, particularly when paired with that lovely red lipstick. She accessorized with pretty nude Stuart Weitzman sandals and a nude Charlotte Olympia Cancer Zodiac Pandora clutch. It all looked beautiful! It really did! Except…those weird built-in nip slips things.

What are those? Why are they there? Did Jonathan Saunders want wearers to look like they had wide, pale nipples eagerly popping out of this already-low dress?

Did she look beautiful? Yes, of course. She always looks so lovely! But did she look, as Ashley pointed out, like she had “chicken cutlets” coming out of her bustier? Yes, also that. It is unfortunate because while I love her style typically, I just think this is one of those “love it or loathe it dresses,” as much as it pains me/makes me wanna slap myself to say that.

As a side note, am I the last person to noticed she is with Pacey from Dawson’s Creek? I’m pretty sure I must be, as Google tells me they have been together for 7 years. I give up on myself, too.
