Oh, Dolce & Gabbana. We don’t love them when they’re doing shit like allegedly dodging taxes and producing stunningly racist earrings, but they keep interrupting their bad press with moments of brilliant, opulent, over-the-top beauty like their new Fall 2014 collection. Their new, fairy-tale-inspired collection is achingly beautiful, with deep colors, floaty sheer fabrics, Dolce & Gabbana’s signature over-the-top baroque embellishments, and ethereal animals and woodland prints.
Our favorite pieces of the collection were deep blue sheer gowns covered with roses and owls. Between this and Valentino, we can pretty much guarantee you’ll be wearing animals next fall, so you might want to start keeping your eyes peeled for ethereal woodland motifs now.
The corset dresses will almost certainly be making red carpet appearances soon, but we worry they’ll tend to look a bit over the top and tacky in the real world.
The brightly colored snakeskin sides are a nice touch on the handbags.
