Everyone is counting down the days until the 2016 Oscars on Sunday night, but there was another stylish awards ceremony that took place yesterday: the 2016 ELLE Style Awards. Obviously, with any ceremony called the “Style Awards,” you’re guaranteed lots of amazing fashion and this year’s ceremony was no exception. Models and actresses showed how red carpet dressing is done. They also showed why you should be wearing white all winter long.
Here are the best looks from the 2016 ELLE Style Awards:
1. Liv Tyler
Pregnant or not, this is an amazing look on Liv Tyler. The off-the-shoulder neckline and the bold blue color are all she needs.
2. Ellie Goulding
Let Ellie Goulding show you how to wear a body chain. This black lingerie-inspired dress is a fairly simple look. The delicate body chain adds a little bit of something, without taking away from the dress.
3. Mollie King
Lace-up necklines are something we are seeing more and more of. Mollie King puts a unique spin on the trend with the ring accents. The silvery lilac color of her gown is also a nice contrast to the edgy detail.
4. Rosie Huntington-Whiteley
This is a look that only a model could pull off. On the wrong person, this could look like they have a tail. However, Rosie makes it look so cool and sexy.
5. Suki Waterhouse
Suki Waterhouse went for a classic Marilyn Monroe look, but she kept it modern and true to her style by making it a little edgier. She went with a longer printed gown and tousled curls, and swapped the red lipstick for a statement eye.
6. Neelam Gill
Neelam Gill doesn’t just have enviable eyebrows, she also has great taste in clothes. This dress is very simple, but very on trend right now. If you think it’s boring, take a look at the outfit from the side:
You would never call that crisscross back and slit boring now, would you?
7. Daisy Lowe
Daisy Lowe is another one who played with contrasts. She’s taken a very feminine shape and added some serious edge with the shredded top. Her wispy beehive also works well with the preppy-meets-undone theme.
8. Karlie Kloss
Let’s be real. It is very difficult to find an outfit that looks bad on Karlie Kloss. This long black dress shows why she is a model. She could have gone with something tight and short but it was nice to see her go for an understated look.
9. Elizabeth Olsen
This is a very Olsen twin look. It is also nice to see Elizabeth Olsen wearing something that you do not normally see on the red carpet. What’s even better is that when the weather is a bit warmer, you could actually copy elements from this look.
