Just a few days after being outed by Michelle Rodriguez as her girlfriend–then subsequently denying it–professionally awesome weirdo Cara Delevingne got all up on the runway at Fendi today at Milan Fashion Week and rocked it in the oddest manner. How did she do that? Why, carrying a doll of somebody else’s head, of course!
The entire Fendi show was pretty cool; dark colors, big hoods, so much fur that it bums me out, etcetera etcetera. But Cara walked the show and suddenly made Fall/Winter 2014’s biggest accessory* a weird little man. Or rather, an accessory in the image of a weird little man, namely Karl Lagerfeld. Behold:
It is kind of adorable, right? I mean, it is the “head” of a designer with a body made of fur, complete with fur sunglasses as an accessory and a little tie, all of which is more odd than adorable in most ways, but it is still kind of cute to see one of fashion’s notorious jerks have the equivalent of a couture Beanie Baby made of him.
Then, Cara posted this on her Instagram, sealing the deal on this bizarre and fantastic pairing:
God, that movie was awful. Anyway, the little doll thing caused quite a fuss because let’s be honest: most runways do not show much else besides clothing, and most of us mortals forget that clothing pretty quickly. Personally, I do not love Fendi, so I was not planning on looking at this show, but the Karl doll effectively got my attention and here I am, writing about it. I am but a pawn in the Lagerarmy, but that is okay because if I am on the side of Cara Delevingne and her magical eyebrows, I cannot be doing too much wrong.
*By “biggest,” I mean that nobody will wear this, but I wish they would because dolls are great.
