The annual GQ Men of the Year Awards serves to honor hundreds of men who embody all things GQ, from the best of film, music, sport, TV, literature, politics, and more, but the red carpet was a different story entirely. Within the flurry of tuxes and crisp suits, the women stood out with some seriously great fashion. The color palette, for the most part, but the finished looks were anything but, which just goes to show that, even at an awards show focused on men, women will always find a way to come out on top.
Check out some of the best dressed ladies from the GQ Men of the Year Awards:
1. Sarah Hyland
It really should come as no surprise that Sarah Hyland is at the top of our best-dressed list, considering she’s been topping them all ever since she stepped out in her Zac Posen gown at the 2015 Emmy Awards. This skirt-and-top combo is daring, but still chic, and her hair and makeup are completely on point.
I always find these kinds of tops unflattering, but the proportions, along with the tight pencil skirt, make Ashley’s look just right. Plus, nude shoes were definitely the right call.
3. Anna Camp
A much-needed pop of color on an otherwise black-and-white red (well, black) carpet, Anna’s Barbie-pink dress is sweet, but grown-up.
4. Kylie Jenner
Kylie’s definitely known for her makeup prowess, and she and Kendall Jenner have put out some great clothing collections over the years, but it’s not too often that I feel the need to put her on any best-dressed lists. This particularly look (I think it’s a jumpsuit, but it could be a maxi dress) was too good to ignore. Few people can rock an all-black number better than the Kardashians, and Kylie is no exception.
5. Amy Schumer
As much as I love Amy in red, this white minidress is stunning.
This jumpsuit is the clothing version of my favorite galaxy nail art, and the fit is superb.
7. Jamie Chung
The only thing better than the subtle cutouts on the front of this dress is the back:
Oh, and those shoes. Those shoes are everything.
Even thought this look seems almost too professional for the occasion, I can’t fault Sarah for giving the bold houndstooth print a go. Plus. she’s been on a fashion roll lately, and I’m here for it.
