Beyonce Grammys

The 2013 Grammy Awards took place last night and few Grammys ceremonies have ever presented us with so many genuinely god awful dresses. While looking through our colleague Samantha’s fantastic live coverage of the red carpet last night, we realized two things: 1) Sam is a lot more generous than us and 2) there’s no fucking way anyone can make a reasonable best dressed list out of this caravan of nightmares.

So, we decided to reframe our usual awards ceremony post-mortem best dressed list as, simply, The Least Offensive Dressed. Let’s try our best.

Janelle MonaeAs long as Janelle Monae looks like Janelle Monae, she makes life a little easier.

Allison WilliamsWe’re including Allison Williams because… because who doesn’t love crop circles? And The Matrix?

Kat Dennings Kat Dennings is super hot!

Rihanna Fine, whatever. Rihanna‘s dress is fine. This is a curve we’re grading on.

The 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards - ArrivalsWhen we first saw Alexa Chung‘s look we figured it would land on today’s worst dressed list–“That’s way too precious,” we thought–but now that the dust has settled, Chung makes a comfortable claim to the Least Offensive list.

Carrie Underwood Carrie Underwood full on stepped out of an episode of Dynasty which, by this morning’s standards, is entirely okay.

Carly Rae JepsenCarly Rae Jepsen makes the cut for 1) looking less like an 11-year-old than usual and 2) we love the Addams Family.

Karlie Kloss We hate cutouts. But Karlie Kloss wears clothes professionally so she looks more put together than most.

Giuliana Rancic We never thought this day would come. Giuliana Rancic, one of our all-time least favorite red carpet fixtures (and all one color, no less) has not landed on the worst dressed list. It will be hard to recover from this.

BeyonceBeyonce. Beyonce looked pretty damn great, comparatively and otherwise.

Well, that physically hurt us. Onto the Worst Dressed!
