Grammys Memorable LooksThe Grammys should be all about the memorable performances, but the awards show has also become known for its eye-catching red carpet fashion. Celebrities always dress to standout on the red carpet, but things are taken to another level at the Grammy Awards. And that level normally involves a lot of skin. Your regular beaded gown isn’t going to cut it at the Grammys. There needs to be drama, surprises and a 70% naked, 30% clothes ratio for celebs to set themselves apart.

Let’s take a look at the most memorable Grammy looks:

1. Christina Aguilera, 20001Christina Aguilera at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California (Photo by Steve Granitz/WireImage)

Christina Aguilera has worn lots of memorable things. This plunging dress actually isn’t as scandalous as some of the other things she has worn, but it is such an iconic look. The entire outfit came together perfectly from the braids to the tie-up dress to the gold sandals.

2. Rihanna, 2011

When Rihanna shows up, everyone is going to remember it. Rihanna has done a lot of different versions of naked dresses, but this one managed to be both sweet and sexy. It looks a bit like it was fashioned out of those plastic Hawaiian lei everyone wears to beach-themed parties, but that actually added to its appeal.

3. Jennifer Lopez, 2000Jennifer Lopez in Versace at the 42nd Grammy Awards held in Los Angeles, CA on Febuary 23, 2000 Photo by Scott Gries/ImageDirect

How could Jennifer Lopez’s plunging Versace dress not be included on the list? This might just be the single most memorable Grammys look ever. Heck, it might even be the most memorable awards season gown ever. Good luck to anyone trying to top this look.

4. Lady Gaga, 2010Grammys Lady Gaga Purple Dress

No list would be complete without Lady Gaga. It is hard for anyone to forget this look given that Gaga was holding one of the most dangerous-looking and biggest accessories to ever appear on the Grammys red carpet. Throw in some crazy shoes, a couture dress and the yellow hair and it is seared into our memories.

5. Katy Perry, 2011arrives at The 53rd Annual GRAMMY Awards at Staples Center on February 13, 2011 in Los Angeles, California.

Even if Katy didn’t bring her grandma with her to the 2011 Grammys, we would still include this look on the list. How many people have showed up to the Grammys in couture angel costumes?

Christina makes it onto the list twice with this look. Remember how this was after he Xtina “Dirrty” phase? It was such a change from the zebra hair and leather chaps. Plus, it was retro yet also very modern.

7. Nicki Minaj, 2012 Grammys Nicki Minaj Priest

There are a handful of people who you can always count on to turn heads at the Grammys and Nicki Minaj is one of them. With or without the priest, her monastic-cum-Little Red Riding Hood outfit grabbed our attention and held it.

8. Pharrell, 2014attends the 56th GRAMMY Awards at Staples Center on January 26, 2014 in Los Angeles, California. We have focused a lot on the women, but we cannot forget about the men. Pharrell’s 2014 Grammy look just might go down in history as the male equivalent of Jennifer Lopez’s Versace dress. He showed up on the carpet and people went crazy for his Mountie Hat. If a hat gets its own Twitter handle, you know it is a look that people aren’t going to forget about the next day.

9. Toni Braxton, 2001Toni Braxton (Photo by SGranitz/WireImage)

Toni Braxton still holds one of the records for most naked Grammys outfit, despite wearing this back in 2001. It’s debatable whether you can call this a dress when that much cheek is exposed. It’s basically just a long top with a side band.

10. Lady Gaga, 2011arrives at The 53rd Annual GRAMMY Awards at Staples Center on February 13, 2011 in Los Angeles, California.

We could debate about whether Lady Gaga’s egg could be considered a look or not, but that was what she was wearing on the red carpet, so it makes it onto the list. The “egg birthing” may have been anticlimactic, but watching people awkwardly attempt to interview Gaga while she was in the egg is something we still laugh about today.

11. Nicki Minaj, 2011Grammys Nicki Minaj Animal

Nicki Minaj is another one who makes it onto the list twice. If you look at the books, you will see that she set the record here for wearing the most leopard print in one outfit. Hello, even her hair has a leopard print on it.
