Late last year, Harper’s Bazaar EIC Glenda Bailey announced the magazine would get an overhaul in 2012. Now, the overhaul is here and it’s… pretty dramatic. Down below is Gwyneth Paltorw in an Anthony Vaccarello gown (Vaccarello, by the way, is getting a suspiciously massive push in the fashion press), hair obscuring her face. More surprising still is the lack of tedious cover chatter. You can probably tell from the lighting that this is the work of Terry Richardson but we have to admit that the cover really stands out. Interestingly, the magazine now has more in common with a French Vogue than an American Elle.

Longtime Bazaar favorite Richardson aside, we like the minimal new direction. Do you?
