Zara JoggersFashion is all about the sports luxe trend at the moment. It’s right on trend to mix your workout clothes with your regular clothes when you aren’t hitting the gym. Track jackets, caps and sweatpants–or joggers as the fashion crowd prefer to call them–are must-have pieces.

Sweatpants are usually seen as the pants that you wear when you are feeling lazy but do not want to leave the house in your pajamas. However, if you choose a clean pair and mix them with something other than an oversized college hoodie, you will see that they can actually be quite chic. Take a look at Gigi Hadid‘s sweatpants and heels look. I’ve chosen one pair of sweatpants, Jogging Trousers ($30, Zara), to show how you can style your sweatpants to look like you put some effort into getting dressed.

Here are some different ways to dress up your favorite pair of sweatpants:

Sweatpants Vest

For a casual look, swap the ratty hoodie for a turtleneck and longline vest. For a sophisticated ensemble, keep your clothes in the gray and black family but add a pop of color with your accessories.

Sweatpants Crop Top

We have seen a lot of celebrities wearing their joggers wit sports bras and bomber jackets when they aren’t working out. That’s great for summer but for this time of year, try a long-sleeved turtleneck crop top. Complete the look with classic accessories such as a structured tote bag and tasseled loafers.

Sweatpants Statement Coat

Swapping your ancient sweatshirt or a sweater with interesting details is an easy switch. To dress the look up a bit more, add heeled booties, a statement coat and a contrasting bag.

Sweatpants Faux Fur Jacket

You can get away with sweatpants on more formal occasions, if the dress code isn’t strict. Wear your joggers with your favorite crop top. Add a fun faux fur jacket, strappy heels and a novelty bag. Don’t forget a swipe of bold lipstick.
