Last night was the Hunger Games: Catching Fire world premiere at the Odeon Leicester Square in London and my, my, everyone looked awesome. To celebrate the second installment of Suzanne Collins‘ unbelievably popular series, all the stars showed up on the red carpet and wore their finest (well, most of them did the latter, at least). Beloved celebs including Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Ellie Goulding, Willow Shield and many more turned out to show off their film premiere finest and smile for fans.
Meghan Markle went for a gold-accented LBD.
Liam Hemsworth, rockin’ the suit as dudes do at these things.
Jena Malone wore a sheer red Monique Lhuillier Fall 2013 gown (with nude lining, presumably) that feels somewhere between the high fashion version of a lobster costume and a rich person’s devil costume.
Sophie Ellis-Bextor pulled off a nice patterned dress with a short, flared skirt. Not sure how I feel about this as a red carpet dress, but it is definitely cute.
If Ashley Roberts‘ dress was just a little paler and less neon, I think I could be okay with this look. Actually, I don’t know, the structure of it is weird — but it still looks kind of good of her. I’m conflicted, perhaps because it reminds me of a creamsicle and I would really like one of those right now.
Peaches Geldof‘s dress was strapless, black and white, and fairly boring. And while the cameras’ flashes do wash your face out a bit, I think she was wearing too much powder regardless; her face looks too matte and a little cake-y.
I know Edith Bowman‘s dress was a whole lot of weird, it feels oddly appropriate for this event.
I’m not entirely sure what look The Hunger Games: Mockingjay and Game of Thrones actress Natalie Dormer was going for here, but it’s not my favorite.
I’m usually all about Ellie Goulding’s wardrobe but this reminds me of a Riesen wrapper crossed with my seventh grade stationary.
Now, let’s take a look at what Elizabeth Banks, Jennifer Lawrence and Willow Shield wore…
I feel like not everyone will love Elizabeth Banks‘ custom-made dress by Jason Wu, but my goodness, I think it is fantastic. I’m a huge lover of yellow on the red carpet (perhaps it is a deep-rooted McDonald’s fetish or something), and I really love how this color looks on Banks. Plus, that lip shade? Bold and beautiful.
After the premiere, she apparently changed into this much simple, but still pretty, frock.
Lookin’ good, Donald Sutherland.
Uh, how adorable is Willow Shield? Girl is only thirteen and she already has great style! Or a great stylist, but whatever, either way, I’m loving this dress from Emilia Wickstead. It’s fun, it’s cute, it’s bright — perfect!
And the look you’ve all been waiting for: Ms. Jennifer Lawrence in a Christian Dior dress from the fashion house’s Couture Fall 2013 collection, complete with mock cape. The dress was paired with Kurt Geiger London heels and simple jewelry. While I don’t love the dress (it’s pretty, it just doesn’t do much for me), I think she looks great regardless.
Her makeup was just dramatic enough to make a statement without going overboard, so I think that worked well with the drastic hair change. I like the way she styled her new cropped hairstyle for this event, but I’m curious to hear what you folks think.
Afterward, she donned this embellished black dress.
Not sure what’s going on here between Lawrence and Hutcherson, but I think it’s good.
