Show of hands among all the ’90s kids out there—how many of you wore light-up sneakers? Oh, all of you? OBVIOUSLY. That’s because they were easily the best, coolest fashion trend of the entire decade. I’ll be you thought they were lost forever once the Y2K came, and you had to wear “grown-up” footwear. Well, not so, friends, because Julianne Moore just wore a pair of light-up heels. And they’re Chanel. Ah, the sweet, sweet smell of childhood.

Julianne attended Karl Lagerfeld‘s Métiers D’Art show in New York City in what was basically my dream outfit. She wore head-to-toe black, with just two simple pops of color: her perfect red hair, and the bright blue lights on her shoes! Here’s the look in its entirety:

And, since we all know why we’re really here, here’s a close-up on the shoes!

You guys, I can’t even begin to tell you how I excited I am that these shoes are officially a thing that people are wearing again. I was initially a little bit nervous about this whole ’90s fashion revival thing, because I cringe to look back on my days of tattoo chokers and Tevas (which are apparently coming back now? #Help). But these light-up shoes, these really embrace the glory of the ’90s. They take something that everyone loved and transform it into something that everyone can wear now, instead of just recycling an old trend and selling it as “retro.” The fact that they’re Chanel is just the icing on the cake.

But what do you guys think? Would you wear light-up heels, or is this another trend that should just stay in the ’90s? Let us know in the comments!
