We’d love to own a couture pair of shoes that Karl Lagerfeld designed, but the only way most of us will be able to own them is in our dreams…or if we eat nothing but pot noodles for a year. Happily, we’ll be able to get a pair of Karl Lagerfeld-designed shoes thanks to the designer’s forthcoming collaboration with Vans.
Karl teased the collaboration on Instagram with a black and white graphic featuring the Vans and Karl Lagerfeld logos. It didn’t reveal much apart from official confirmation of the collaboration and the launch date, but it was enough to get people very excited.
WWD reported that the collection will feature six different versions of classic Vans shoes including the Old Skool laceless style and the Sk8-Hi laceless platform. Karl Lagerfeld’s signature black and white color scheme will feature prominently in the collection. It will even include the classic Vans’ checkerboard pattern getting a King Karl makeover by featuring a cameo depicting the designer.
And the Karl Lagerfeld x Vans collection isn’t only giving us shoes; we’ll also be getting clothes. Look out for backpacks, a T-shirt and a bomber.
The collection drops on September 7 in Karl Lagerfeld boutiques and select Vans’ stores. Plus, you’ll be able to shop it online. The prices will range from $40 to $300, which is a lot more wallet-friendly compared to some designer pieces.
