It’s a pretty open secret that we here at The Gloss have a deep and undying love for Karlie Kloss. Her majesty and sheer perfection truly know no bounds, and as such, we follow her career religiously. We loved her in Versace‘s social media-inspired runway show last year, we were all over it when Reformation announced a potential collaboration, and now, we are HERE for Diane Von Furstenberg‘s newest ad campaign, starring none other than the beautiful Klossy herself. Today is truly a glorious day.

The campaign includes several different photos, all of which can be seen over at ELLE.com, but the main photo shows Karlie wearing one of DVF’s classic wrap dresses in a bright, bold print. The very dress, in fact, that Kloss wore for DVF’s Spring 2016 runway show. Check it out:

you be you

WWD reports,

“[The] social media-driven campaign…builds on the story of women’s empowerment…[featuring] some of von Furstenberg’s favorite mantras, such as ‘Work Magic,’ ‘Self Taught,’ ‘Self Made,’ and ‘Play Cool.'”

This all falls under the main “rallying cry” for the campaign, which appears in the above ad: #YouBeYou. The whole idea behind the campaign is simple: von Furstenberg wants to encourage all women to be their best selves, rather than to aspire to become someone else’s version of perfect or ideal. In the promotional video that accompanies the photos, Kloss says, “This is me being me. Now you be you.” You can watch the video in full below:

As opposed to other campaigns wherein the models are asked to take on a certain role (Kloss herself was asked to play a secret agent in DVF’s fall campaign last year), von Furstenberg wanted Karlie to simply be herself in this new campaign. She told WWD,

“I want every woman to be herself. That’s the message. And the best of herself. We as a brand hopefully we give them the tools for them to be themselves.”

In response, Kloss had this to say about the experience:

“Diane was on set the entire time and was very involved in the process. She kind of encouraged me to be myself. This campaign really felt ‘authentically me.’ The message that’s embodied in this campaign is to celebrate you being you and a woman being herself.”

Ah, to be on a first-name basis with Diane von Furstenberg. What a life that would be.

Personally, I love the look and feel of this new campaign. The bright colors and big prints are perfect for spring, and the message behind the ads is something I can definitely get behind. It seems that 2016 is the year of campaigns that are meant to be more than just advertisements for clothes, and it’s really exciting to see.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to go and pick up a printed wrap dress for myself, because I don’t think I’ll be able to wear anything else once it warms up and I aspire to live my life like Karlie Kloss. . Good day to you all.
