Kate Upton keeps the hits coming: not too long after her solo Vogue Italia cover, the Blondest One arrives on the front of Vogue UK. She needs a US and Vogue Paris to complete her plan of total industry domination.

Even though this is indisputably Upton’s moment, Vogue UK EIC Alexandra Shulman had some amazingly undermine-y things to say about the model, telling Vogue.co.uk:

“When I decided to shoot Kate for our first cover of 2013, it was to kick off the year with a young women who is not a stereotypical fashion model – although, let’s face it, she’s hardly a heffalump!”

You know, when straight size models snag significant covers, none of their EICs are ever offering backhanded quotes to the press, like, “She’s different. Not, like, a total troll or anything. But different. I saw past that to cast her.”

How about you shoot Kate Upton because she’s got a bombastic personality and looks good in pictures? Seems simple enough.
