Vanity Fair sat down with Alison Mosshart to talk about her bands (The Kills, Dead Weather) and if attention for the band’s style ever marginalizes the band’s music. She said:

It’s O.K. if people talk about how we dress—because I can say I’m really glad I don’t dress like a roadie. It’s a show and I’m a performer and an artist and I’m not just gonna show up in sweat pants.

When asked if an embarrassingly uncool photo of her ever might surface, she added:

I don’t own a pair of sweatpants. That’d be an impossible find. You’d have to do some Photoshop work for that.

Although I always respect a woman who flat-out refuses to wear sweatpants, I bet the style pressure comes on pretty intensely when your bandmate’s significant other is Kate Moss.
