It’s hard to believe, but it was two years ago when Lane Byrant dropped its game-changing #ImNoAngel campaign. The campaign was basically a call out to the Victoria’s Secret Angels and celebrated body positivity and women of all shapes and sizes. Lane Bryant has continued to release body positive campaigns, but the inclusive brand brought back the #IMNoAngel campaign for a “mic drop” moment at the 2017 Emmy Awards.
Ahead of the awards show, Lane Bryant dropped a major teaser on Instagram. The brand posted a black and white photo of Ashley Graham with a warning about not missing the Emmys. The post was captioned #ImNoAngel.
During the actual awards show, the full #ImNoAngel campaign aired. It featured Ashley along with Denise Bidot, Candice Huffine and Orange is the New Black‘s Danielle Brooks.
Clad in some seriously sexy lingerie, the women describe their bodies and some of the insecurities that they have experienced in the past. However, they make it clear that these are their bodies and that they love them the way they are.
Following the commercial, Lane Bryant posted the campaign video and images online. One post proudly proclaimed, “A revolution in the making. No filters. No fears. No looking back. #ImNoAngel is here.”
