While we strive to be your #1 source for all nipple coverage (and uncoverage, hyuck hyuck), today we must celebrate a different feat–one that does not involve any popping out so much as one woman’s ability to keep everything in. I give you LeAnn Rimes‘ 2014 CMT Awards red carpet dress. Behold:
The singer wore a Zani Rakhem Spring 2014 silk gown that features a low, low front and draping your sophomore-year self would have killed to attend a toga party in, pairing it Stuart Weitzman and adding in some sparkle with H. Stern jewelry.
While I like the dress in general, I am primarily impressed at the fact that LeAnn was able to avoid having a nip slip on the red carpet. Seriously, I cannot imagine just how much fashion tape is under that dress; I feel like the front cut is so wide and deep that her nipples must be RIGHT. THERE. next to the edges. (Yes, I feel creepy speculating on this stuff in case you’re wondering, but I am genuinely fascinated!) There appears to be a sheer panel to bridge the gap and presumably keep everything held in place, but it doesn’t look very tight nor like it would offer any coverage whatsoever if something were to move around at all. So, y’know: bold choice, LeAnn.
All in all, she looks fantastic–which is great considering her recent red carpet history–not to mention totally appropriate for a red carpet like the CMT Awards. I feel like Taylor Swift would totally wear this but in a more PG-13 version involving a slightly less obtuse angle for the deep-v in the front. Plus, her hair and makeup lovely! LeAnn has got her typical silky blonde wave thang going, complete with simple sheer plum eyes and rosy cheeks. I would’ve picked a nude gloss for her lip color, but this is fine given the venue.
What do you think of LeAnn’s CMT Awards look? Is it worthy of a golf clap or a verbal slap to the stylist who picked it?
