Makepiece eco-friendly, “eco-chic” knitwear will featured during London Fashion Week, February 19-23 at Stand 73, Somerset House.

Heavy felted coats in shapes that protect and cocoon, wrapping and enveloping against the cold. This buttoned up exterior opens to reveal layers of softness beneath, with delicate folds, ruffles and translucency. Wool dresses sculpted with soft inset pleats that bring new delicacy to knitwear. Jumpers and cardigans with unexpected structured seam details creating shaped yokes and shoulders.

If you’d like a sneak-peek, below are a few of the Makepiece items that caught my eye. All are made with yarns obtained by sustainable farming practices, dyed with natural dyes.

Carapace Dress (aw09:11)

This dress is available in violet, madder, moss, turquoise dusk, twilight, bright (which is an undyed version, and black. It features a deep v-neckline that is set off with a shrug-like ruche stitch.  The hemline is shaped with the same stitch.

Edgeway Cardigan (aw09:37)

I love this sheer cardigan, it has a sort of net-look effect. It’s trimmed with a kid mohair boucle and is fastened with a button at the chest-line and is available in the same colors as the dress above.

Flowerscar Tied Cardigan (aw09:30)

This cardigan can be tied in the front or the back. It’s made of an open-weave with, long full sleeves. It is available in the same colors as the products listed above.
