Wow. So, the most recent designer collaboration with Macy’s involved serious fashion heavyweight, Karl Lagerfeld. Now, as that capsule collection prepares to drop (check out him sketching and being Karl here) we learn of two more major/majorly intriguing new collabs for the department store:
First off, we have beloved Japanese Vogue editor-at-large and “fashion maniac” Anna Dello Russo doing ed duties at INC. WWD explains:
Dello Russo is featured in the new INC campaign for the Macy’s private label brand. Tapped as the contemporary label’s editor at large for fall, Dello Russo both styled and appears in the ads, which also feature model Karolina Kurkova (left). Macys.com will launch an INC microsite next week with videos that provide a glimpse into Dello Russo’s high-flying lifestyle while offering fashion tips to consumers.
Second, in late October, a very, very exciting collaboration will land: a full on capsule collection with Giambattista Valli. Again, according to WWD:
Valli’s collection for Macy’s touches on all the same themes, including feminine fabrics, bold prints and riotous color, lace, tweed, brocade, fake fur and point d’esprit tulle. The collection’s cocktail dresses, skirts, blouses, lightweight jackets, edgy pants and graphic T-shirts mainly have a red and black palette infused with gold, gray and fuchsia. Items are priced from $50 to $150.
So, this year, Anna Dello Russo will bring her styling expertise to the people and Valli will bring his design. This is an exciting time for people who can’t afford high fashion but love it all the same. So:
