Melissa McCarthy is back in action. After slaying quite the handful of red carpets in her own designs and dropping a holiday collection that we’re still obsessing over, the Melissa McCarthy Seven7 spring collection is finally here! Honestly, what with all of the new spring launches, I can’t say I’ve ever been more excited for the weather to warm up.
Ever since McCarthy initially announced her line back in 2014, she’s been pleasantly surprising us with each new seasonal collection, adequately squashing our fears that this line would just be another plus-size line, rather than a normal fashion line designed with plus-size women in mind. Melissa McCarthy Seven7 is, of course, not exclusively straight- or plus-size—sizes range from size 4 to size 26—though it caters to its plus-size audience way better than most.
The spring collection is, happily, no exception. It consists of blouses, kimonos, sweaters, skirts, jeans, and, for the first time, maxi dresses. McCarthy said in a press release,
“I’ve always been obsessed with the drape and sex appeal of certain 1970’s dresses. The beauty of the maxi dress is that you can throw it on and feel instantly put together. Dressed up with wedges or dressed down with a gladiator sandal, it’s an incredibly versatile piece that should be a staple in every woman’s spring wardrobe.”
The collection runs the gamut in price, ranging from $59-$198, and it’s full of every kind of piece your spring wardrobe could ever require. Take a look at some of my favorite pieces from the collection:
I need this shirt. Actually, I need, like, six of this shirt so that I can live in it all season long without having to wash it every other day. After all, what’s more versatile than a good white shirt?
I’ve been obsessed with floral kimonos ever since I bought my first one from H&M for Gov Ball last year, and the print on this one is just beautiful.
Oh, look, a jumpsuit that I’m immediately obsessed with! What a surprise!
This is the sneakiest way to wear sweatpants to work I’ve ever seen. I mean, joggers are basically glorified leggings, and the fact that they’re made of denim just makes these that much easier to wear in any kind of office environment.
This is the shirt I’ll be living in when I’m not in living in that white shirt, in case you were wondering how I was planning on dressing myself this year.
