Last night, Michelle Obama wore an absolutely stunning Jason Wu gown for the Inaugural Ball. The dress moved in all the right ways, her hair looked picture perfect and whomever her makeup artist was last night deserves a serious high five for keeping her looking fresh yet not overdone. Basically, she looked totally, drop-dead gorgeous. And as photos of the Michelle Obama Inauguration gown circulate around the Internet, the verdict is clear: the First Lady is a certified style icon.

The ruby chiffon dress was custom-made for her by Wu, which is unsurprising considering he also supplied her with the gorgeous one-shoulder white gown she opted for back in 2009. She accessorized this year’s dress with a Kimberly McDonald ring and Jimmy Choo shoes. Overall, it is yet another serious win for the woman who has become just as beloved by the public for her intellect and poignancy as well as her style.

Plus, she tweeted a seriously adorable sentiment after the evening was through.

She was referencing the lovely dance that she and Barack Obama did together at the Inaugural Ball, of which there is now an equally cute GIF.

YOU KNOW YOU “AW’D.” But really, isn’t it nice to see a sweet couple be all sorts of happy? I know opinions can be pretty split on Obama, but in general, I am always all for seeing happy people be happy, and they look pretty damn content to me.
