Check out the best street style moments from Milan Fashion Week:

1. The Long Jacket and Statement Sneakers

If you were to style these sneakers wrong, they would look downright ridiculous. With her long blue coat and midi skirt, they have just the right amount of fashion girl edge. Heels? Who needs heels?

2. The Wrap Sweater, Yellow Blouse and Burgundy Skirt

Forget about black and white, yellow and oxblood is an amazing color combination. The yellow blouse underneath the wrapped sweater is a refreshing choice. Not to mention that it is another example of clever layering.

3. The Zipper Cape

Milan is known for colorful, over-the-top looks, but this outfit shows that you can still stand out in all black. The black cape with zippers is a statement piece. She has styled it perfectly with the plain black pants and top. Also notice how the gold on the black boots picks up the gold in the cape.

4. The Brocade Dress and Beige Shirt

Mixing-and-matching is a good thing. This look has it nailed with the beige military-style shirt under the red brocade dress. However, it has gone one step above that. You cannot forget about he ankle-strap shoes and white socks.

5. The Denim Jacket, White Blouse and Embellished Jeans

This is how you take basic pieces and make them interesting. The denim jacket and white blouse are upgraded thanks to the oversized shape. Obviously, the pearl embellishment takes these jeans from basic to fabulous. Throw in a cotton candy pink bag with a fuzzy keychain and you have yourself a winning outfit.

6. The White T-Shirt, Strapless Top and Striped Skirt

If you had all of these pieces in your closet, would you think to wear them together? Probably not. That’s what makes this outfit so good. You wouldn’t expect a striped skirt, paisley bag, burgundy bustier and a white T-shirt to work together.

7. The Statement Dress

A floral dress isn’t out-of-the-ordinary, but a frock with an open weave design and tree embroidery is. She’s played up the pretty details with the mini box bag and the mint green heels.

8. The Printed Khaki Blouse and Plain Skirt

There’s no need to wear every single color of the rainbow. Her outfit makes a case for sticking with neutral shades. The combination of the khaki green and the cognac brown is very luxe. Same goes for the mix of different fabrics.

9. The Mirrored Jacket and Embellished Black Pants

Can we just admire this jacket for a second? That is embellishment that you don’t see every day. Wearing that jacket with a plain top and pants would have been sufficient, but she has upped the whimsical factor with the embellished black pants and the sequined top.

10. The Statement Sweater and Flared Pants

This look demonstrates what an impact different proportions can create. The detail on the green sweater’s sleeve is balanced out by the split hem of the jeans. This outfit is also just the thing to make us want to bring back fishnet socks.
