Sienna Miller attends a screening of The Girl at the Hamptons Film Festival

Sienna Miller slipped out of the spotlight for a little while to have her first child, but now she’s back and promoting her new film, HBO’s The Girl (in which she plays Tippi Hedren in her “systematic-torture-by-Alfred-Hitchcock years”). Miller attended a screening of the film in the Hamptons over the weekend and wore Spring 2012 Alessandra Rich. As you can see above, the cream column has a high neckline and clean silhouette, with unusual open sleeves that make it look like a cape. A lot like a cape.

One cape in particular:

Gwyneth Paltrow in Tom Ford at the 2012 Academy Awards

Miller’s Alessandra Rich is strikingly similar to Gwyneth Paltrow‘s renowned Academy Awards look from last year, that pretty unforgettable white Tom Ford cape gown. Both actresses, interestingly, accessorized with cuffs and natural, sun-kissed beauty to accentuate their natural blondeness. We hate to say it, but it’s hard to compete with Paltrow here.

This is actually quite strange, because so many famous people are terminally anxious about wearing the same dresses (or even similar dresses)–especially after a dress has become widely associated with one person. What’s double weird about this is that it keeps happening to Paltrow: her infamous midriff-baring Pucci gown was scooped up a few months after by Kim Kardashian, who almost certainly just wanted the press.
