We may look back and cringe at some of the things that we wore in the 2000’s now. See: UGG boots with everything and random slogan tees. However, there we a lot celebs who style we couldn’t get enough of. We had Sienna Miller doing her boho thing and Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie making us want to wear Juicy Couture and pastels on The Simple Life. Then there was Mischa Barton. We were obsessed with everything that Mischa wore on The O.C. Plus, she worked it on the red carpet and during off days thanks to her preppy-meets-boho looks. We loved all her looks and we tried to copy them all.
Let’s take a look back at some of Mischa Barton’s great outfits from the 2000’s:
Awww, it’s Ryan, Marissa and Seth. Mischa always had a knack for choosing the cutest dresses. They were a bit boho and they always look effortless. This yellow dress is a perfect example of this.
Remember how obsessed you were about this ruched tunic with sequin trim? You probably spent many hours at the mall trying to find something similar. Mischa made it look great with the bootcut jeans and coordinating shoes.
Forget about the actual Oscars red carpet, this was a post-show party dress that stole the show. It is a dress that would have still turned heads at the awards show red carpet. There is a lot of gold, but Mischa pulled it off.
Mischa made us realize that our wardrobes were severely lacking in the jacket department. She made them look young and fresh and not like boring work jackets. This yellow tweed jacket with red trim was one of the many cute ones she had in her wardrobe.
This was one of the outfits that you copied for your everyday looks. You loved Mischa’s mix of pastels, mini skirt and Chanel bag with chain strap. Of course most of us went with a lookalike bag instead of the real thing.

Mischa wore this dress 10 years ago and it looks like something that you would still see on the red carpet today. This was the early version of the cutouts trend crossed with a monokini, and it worked. Her orange earrings were the perfect accessory for the look.
The thing that we constantly repeated whenever we saw a photo of Mischa was, “Where does she find cool pieces like this?” That was something everyone thought with this look along with, “Who knew that a shrunken marching band vest could look cool?”
Here’s another time Mischa made us want to invest in more jackets. This short black jacket with dress and pointy-toe shoes isn’t that different compared to what Marissa Cooper would wear on The O.C.
This definitely isn’t like the typical dress you would have seen on the red carpet in the 2000’s. It doesn’t even look like something we’re used to seeing now. However, it is very pretty. It’s a bit retro and a bit boho, and Mischa makes it look effortless.
Long before Taylor Swift made us want to wear Keds, Mischa made us love them. They were the perfect complement to her white eyelet dress.
This dress should not work in theory. What are these colors, puce and dirty white? Plus, it is slashed and the hem is unfinished. However, you combine all those details, put the dress on Mischa and add an embellished shoes and it is a knockout.
