I have to give the Miss America organization credit for recognizing a moneymaking opportunity – they’ve probably seen the crazy pageant parents from Toddlers and Tiaras shelling out tons of money on cupcake dresses for their kids and thought “hey, how can we profit from that?” Enter Miss America Brands’ new clothing line for kids. “Little Miss America” featured pink Juicy-style zip up sweatshirts, ruffly miniskirts, and other stuff you know Paris Hilton’s eight year old self would have stocked up on.

In an era where pageants are becoming increasingly out of date and relegated to cable networks, it’s a good idea for the pageant to align themselves with the Miss Americas of tomorrow. Or, barring that, at least bleed some of them dry before killing their pageant dreams.
