It’s that time of year again. No, we’re not talking about the holiday season this time. We’re talking about the time of year when Pantone announces its newest color of the year. The color institute has unveiled the 2017 Pantone Color of the Year and it’s time to start thinking green because Greenery is where it’s at for the upcoming year.

You might remember that last year we were lucky enough to get two colors, Rose Quartz and Serenity Blue. We might have only gotten one color this year, but you shouldn’t feel disappointed because Greenery is a gorgeous shade. It’s not as intense as lime green. Nor is it like Christmas green where it will look ridiculous most of the year.

Pantone Greenery

Pantone explained on its website that Greenery was selected as the 2017 Pantone Color of the Year because it’s a zesty yellow-green shade that symbolizes new beginnings. Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute elaborates,

“Greenery bursts forth in 2017 to provide us with the reassurance that we yearn for amid a tumultuous social and political environment. Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalize, Greenery symbolizes the reconnection we seek in nature, one another and for a larger purpose.”

We’re here for all of that. As we move into a new year, we’re all about new beginnings and Greenery is just the shade to start us off.
