Last night’s 9th annual UNICEF Snowflake Ball brought some big names, including Katy Perry, who performed at the event (happily, not in a pan-Asian sex amalgam). The clothing choices were pretty polarizing – the celebrities either fell into the best dressed or worst dressed categories with little in between.
Let’s start with the best.
Angie Harmon looked stunning in her Angel Sanchez Resort 2014 gown, and the textured white skirt paired with that sleek black bodice might be my favorite version of “winter wonderland” yet. When she turned to the side…
SIDE BOOB FAKE OUT! This might be the most elegant usage of side boob I’ve ever seen.
I’m going to come out swinging: I like Christina Ricci‘s Carolina Herrera. Even the large swath of it that’s animal print. That lipstick is killer, too.
Katy Perry is resplendent in Naeem Khan, and her outfit, as Carrie aptly put it, looks like what “a medieval queen would wear to a Christmas feast.”
Model Lindsay Ellingson did everything right except for those pointy shoes, which I know I harp on but I really can just never forgive them. Her Sophie Theallet Fall 2013 featuring that velvet hemline was right on theme, and makes me wonder if the other best dressed of the evening all coordinated.
And now, for the evening’s worst outfits.
Jenna Bush Hager looks nice and all, but I’m just bored to pieces. Her hair is a mix of vaguely bridal, vaguely Sears family portrait.
Oh, Katie Couric. The shape of this thing is great, but why is it made out of Mother of The Bride Fabric and patterned to match a couch in a funeral home?
I don’t really even know what I’m looking at in terms of Téa Leoni‘s outfit, but her daughter, Madelaine West Duchovny looks adorable. Duchovny wins best dressed of this photo.
As always, it was a mixed bag. This one just happened to be either wildly fantastic or truly awful.
