Sometimes we think fashion blogging has wrecked our brain: we’ve become so numb to staring at wacky celebrity outfits all day that we’ve developed a fondness for fashion blogger cliches like mixed prints, eye-catching jumpsuits, even–horror of horrors–neon. Which is to say, there’s a lot of silly clothes we like–sometimes even the very ugly–and we occasionally have to defend their use.
So, when we first saw photos of erstwhile Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger leaving scene-y, paparazzi-hotbed sushi restaurant SUSHISAMBA in London last night, our initial response was pretty neutral:
Sure, it’s a skintight catsuit–and we were a little confused by the ribbed neckline and we definitely weren’t into the mesh sleeves–but we’ve come to like silly jumpsuits and metallics and riots of textures, so we didn’t really mind it.
And then… then she turned to the side:
Suddenly the sleeves weren’t a problem. …Though that dizzying mesh side slit kind of explains the high neckline. You know, for balance.
The catsuit is Fall 2013 Julien Macdonald–Scherzinger completed the look with black pumps and lily-gilding statement earrings.
For the sake of moving on, let’s all take a moment to appreciate the gentleman behind her.
