Apparently, Anna Wintour is considering her dear friend and Carrie Bradshaw impersonator Sarah Jessica Parker as her successor as Vogue editor-in-chief. RadarOnline has it from an, of course, anonymous source, that Wintour is grooming Parker for the role, which would be an upset over favorited editors and Vogue staffers.
While things are far from definite, apparently Wintour “has thrown her Vogue co-workers into a panic by hinting her fashionista friend…Sarah Jessica Parker, could take on a wider role at the magazine. Anna is worrying colleagues who believe she has found her true successor in Sarah!” This is some remarkable imagery that Radar is throwing at us, and I’m picturing beautiful people screaming and throwing fabric swatches, perfume bottles breaking, and stacks of artisanal douches toppling to the floor.
It’s not like Parker is a stranger to the fashion world—she’s been a power player in the fashion world for quite some time now. But it seems unlikely that her fashion experience would translate to filling Wintour’s shoes.
While this is probably stupid tabloid pablum made up for a slow news day, it’s funny to think about Carrie Bradshaw becoming the editor of Vogue. Would every letter from the editor consist only of rhetorical questions about the nature of love and bikini waxes? Or is it possible that Sarah Jessica Parker and Carrie Bradshaw are, in fact, not the same person? Time will tell.
