Shailene Woodley German premiere of "Die Bestimmung - Divergent"

Every so often a celebrity wears something that completely alters our opinion of them forever, like Renee Zellweger‘s yellow Oscar dress in 2001, Nicole Kidman‘s chartreuse Dior in 1998, and now Shailene Woodley‘s perfectly amazing Zuhair Murad gown from last night’s Berlin premiere of Divergent.

We’d gotten used to thinking of Shailene Woodley as the weird hippie girl who makes her own toothpaste and makes dream catchers out of hair from her shower drain, but last night she had a major movie star moment that blew our minds. Everything is different now. Shailene Woodley will never be the same to us.

We love this Zuhair Murad dress more than we’ve ever loved another human being. It’s simultaneously weird and glamorous and modern and timeless, and we can’t shake the feeling that she’s an alien queen from a movie filmed in the 70s. The fit is phenomenal (except for the length, but we’ve long since given up on the too-long dress issue), we love the plunging neckline, the gold chain detail, and the elegant bust darts shaping the bodice.

Woodley wisely left off jewelry and accessories and kept her hair and makeup minimal to just let the dress and her fantastic skin take center stage.

It even has a train, and we love a little train.

We’ve seen glimpses of fashion potential in Woodley’s previous red carpet appearances on this Divergent promotional tour, including a lace formal jumpsuit and a pair of DNGAF overalls, but this is a whole new level of awesome. Now we can’t wait to see what she does next.
